High Tech School (TLCF)
The High Tech School project presents an important opportunity to improve teaching and learning in Indiana high schools. The Indiana DOE receives funds from the Technology Literacy Challenge Fund to further the vision of Indiana's On Line On Target On Demand Learning Systems Technology Plan, and in turn offers grants to Indiana public school districts for use in schools to enable them to bring together all available resources in a systemic plan of action for using educational technology to improve and support teaching and learning.
Each of the selected High Tech School proposals over the last four years have shown a well-developed plan for the implementation of technology into the school curricula so that students will have the technological and academic skills essential for success in the 21st Century. These schools also demonstrate a commitment to work in partnership with other schools, community groups, government agencies, and business leaders toward achieving the following goals: All teachers will have the training and support they need to help all students learn through computers and through the information super highway; All teachers will have modern computers in their classrooms; Every classroom will be connected to the information superhighway;and Effective and engaging software and on-line resources will be an integral part of every school curriculum.
